The Country Mouse and the City Mouse

In the past month or so we finally, after years of being invited, made it up to Cyndi's parents' home in (or near?)Hersey, MI. Papa John grew up on the land andit has been in the family for generations. Grandma and Papa built a house and retired there. The land is beautifl and boasts a real, honest to goodness bald eagles nest. My kids gotto see thenest last time we were there and Reagan was even able to get a look at the bald eagle while on a dunebuggy ride with Aunt Paula. It is so relaxing there. The sky is clearer and the air is fresher. For Reagan and I (apparently city mice) getting into relaxation mode took a little effort but was so nice once we figured it out. Eric and Avery (our countrey mice believe it or not) took to it immediately. Eric was hitting golfballs before the kids and I were even out of the car. Austin loved roaming the yard (within two feet from Eric or I of course) and Daisy was happy to sniff the delights of "Up North" from herlong leash. The neighbors have a donkey, cow, goats, pigs and chicken...and two retrievers, one of which could be Austin's long lost brother. These two visited every morning at breakfast time, tails-a-waggin'. Wespenta lot of time hangingout while the kids splashed in the pool, painting the rocks around the bonfire pit and just chilling out. Cyndi and I spentsome girl-timein town shoppingwhilePaula, Kelly and Kayla stayed with Avery and Reagan. Besides the traffic and driving with our two carsick beasts, it was a really nice break.
