Kindergarten Christmas Party

Reagan's Christmas party was Friday morning. After a late start getting there, because I thought it started 45 minutes later than it actually did, it was a really great party. The kids made a few crafts, including a super-cool service for one hot cocoa, marshmallow snowman and decorated sugar cookies. While the were eating their pizza, fruit and veggies, a fourth grade teacher interupted the party with a freezing cold manilla envelope direct from the North Pole. Reagan's class had written letters to Santa with their most burning questions the week before and Santa's elves answered each and every letter. Miss Glanert read each child's letter to the group and for the most part, the kids listened in amazement (as did I!!) Reagan's letter was last and boy, did that child show amazing patience. She sat on her legs with her hands folded in her lap, glancing at me occasionally as the teacher read each letter. So far this season, that has been the most magical moment, watching those five year olds, most of which already feel, "Dora is babyish", listen to their letters from Santa's elves. It was awesome.
