It Starts Already

Avery came home from school the other day and told me that, "Justin usually likes Samantha best and Josh likes me best but Justin asked me to sit next to him in the library today and not Samantha." I have a faint memory of me and my kindergarten BFF being chased around the playground by two classmates who were trying to kiss us. When I think that kids are growing up really fast these days, I flash back to that memory. It is really strange and so cute to hear Avery talking about boys in her KINDERGARTEN class. Another little boy's mom tells me stories of her son's apparent crush on Avery. He tells his mom that he gets teased because their younger siblings are in nursery school together (Avery denies knowing of any teasing). He saves extra goodies from home, to give to Avery...although she has yet to receive any of these little gifts. At Reagan's Valentine's Party, said boy's mom told me that he thought Avery was waiting at school instead of going home to catch the bus after dropping the little sibs off at nursery school. He was concerned that she would be lonely and wanted to wait with her at the school. Sounds like quite the gentleman.
