My little scholar has been awarded an ACES award for academics. One child from each class is chosen for the award two times per year. One child is also chosen for Citizenship, Effort, and Student Skills. It is a pretty big deal to get one of these awards and because I am shameless, I will tell you that Avery also earned one in Kindergarten. She really is such a bright little girl. For both awards ceremonies, Avery refused to get on stage with the other kids. She chose instead to sit with us in the audience. When her name was called, instead of heading to the stage, my mom lifted her high so everyone in the gym could turn around and look at her. She said it was fun to do it that way. We celebrated by taking her to lunch at Panera, which she chose then for a visit with Santa and back to school for the rest of the afternoon.
