With so many people out of work this Christmas season you would assume that retailers would be hit hard as well. This is apparently not the case. As I was standing in line at Macy's (purchasing a gift on a great sale) and waiting in a tremendous line at Victoria Secret (returning a bra that I decided not to waste my money on)I wondered why there were such atrocious lines in the middle of a work day. Granted, it is just a few weeks before Christmas but I have shopped in past years and haven't experienced such crowds mid-day, midweek. I came to reaize that since people aren't working, they are shopping. This is the only explanation I can come up with. This recession might be just the thing to boost our economy!
