We attended a graduation party on Saturday for one of the boys that Laura and I used to babysit. Their family was a very big part of our adolescence. My first airplane ride was taken with them to their vacation home in Florida where Laura and I spent three weeks out of school and hanging out with them. After they moved to their home in Armada, Laura andI spent many weekends watching the kids then hanging out with their mom in the evenings, watching movies or soaking in the hot tub. That was about fifteen years ago, which is where my mond kept them. It was so strange to see these cute little chubby boys all grown up and handsome. Gino, the oldest remembered us but the younger two had no recollection of who we were. That was a little sad because they were such a big part of my life back then.
The party was really amazing. All of us were in awe of the festivities, including mechanical bull and country band. They set up corn roast from Blake's cider mill and also had Blake's train taking people for rides around the property. Nino Salvaggio's had a fruit stand at the party where people could do their produce shopping free of charge. No graduation party is complete without valet parking and the Mayor of Sterling Heights riding a mechanical bull!! The dinner was spectacular and was served in the most beautiful barn, complete with indoor pool, workout room and several flat screen TVs. I am not really a jealous or material person but it was really hard not to be a little envious of their little(not so little really) piece of paradise.
Anyway, it was a great time looking back on the good ole days with Laura and bringing back those memories. Thanks for the pictures, Laura.
