For the past two weeks, Avery and some of her friends took "Safety Town". They learned about all kinds of ways to stay safe, from stranger danger to pool safety and bike safety. They even took a bus fieldtrip to the fire department and went swimming in the highschool pool. It was such a great course. Avery loved it and the two and a half hour break every day for two weeks wasn't bad for me either! The only drawback for Avery was that every night at bed she was terrified that someone was going to come through her window and steal her. It was usually whatever they talked about in class that day. Either a stranger, EMS or police officer. The fear is gone now that class is over...thank goodness! On the last day, they held a commencement ceremony where all of the children wore their new safety helmets (included in the tuition price) with a tassle attached. All of thechildren except Avery and Taya of course. I think their reasoningwas to try to blend into the background and not stand out, but they were the only two helmetless children and that pretty much stood out. Who knows, maybe they didn't want to mess with their hairdos!

I just noticed that I spelled Graduate wrong. That's too funny to correct!
