How selfish are we as Christians that the best word for this day, when Jesus was brutally beat, humiliated and ultimately nailed to a cross to die a slow and painful death for the sole reason of saving our souls is good??? Don't grateful, blessed, redeemed all seem like better words for the most important day (in my opinion)in our religion? At least these are respectful ways to describe the day. Anyway, to honor this day, our little family will be going to Grateful (the new name deemed by me until someone can convince me that good is more fitting)Friday services this evening. I will also read the kids the story of this day. I think they are old enough to start to understand it...maybe not, it's hard for grown-ups to understand. Hope everyone is able to spend some time with loved ones and have a blessed Easter weekend.
